Soccer Game

The kids got to stay up way past bedtime and scream LET'S GO DALLAS and FC DALLAS over and over and over and OVER last night!

Tony found a Living Social deal early this week and we took full advantage to take the kids to something fun and different!

We spent the first part of the night chasing Miles around and up and down the stairs.  He spilled our friendly neighbor's beer only once!  And only spit out one bite of his hotdog on to one unsuspecting spectator sitting in front of us! All in all, everyone was so friendly and nice - it was a totally success.

After harassing our neighbors for long enough we let him watch one of his shows.   Just look at that belly!!

The kids had such a blast!  Izzy just loves soccer and was having so much fun screaming at the players and refs!  Nick was having fun texting his girlfriend all night.  Yup, I said girlfriend.  SHHH!  Don't tell him I told you.

Around 9:45, with 15 minutes left in the game, it started drizzling so we decided to call it quits.  We were down by one, and it wasn't looking too good actually.

But Miles did so great the whole time and then easily fell asleep in the car.  The kids had a blast!  It was the perfect midweek treat!  We can't wait to go again!

Maybe next time Dallas could score one goal though, just one... common Dallas!!

Hitting

I feel like a battered women.  My son slaps me around.  And it's getting old.

So, basically I just don't know quite what to do... Miles likes to slap the crap out of me.  If it wasn't so horrible it might almost be cute, actually.  When I tell him no he just starts slapping me in the face.  When he's tired and grumpy he slaps me in the face.  If he's upset about anything he starts slapping me.  Even if he's no where near me and he gets upset about something he finds me to start slapping me.  If I put him down on the ground he starts banging his head on the floor or the wall.

Sigh.

What do I do?  I'm so torn.  I've tried acting sad and hurt and upset, but that doesn't do a thing.  I've tried ignoring him and walking away, but like I said - then he starts inflicting pain on himself.  I've tried hugging him so he can't hit me, but that makes him more mad.  I try distracting him, and that works half the time - but then I feel like I'm rewarding his behavior.  I've tried slapping his hand, but I hate hitting him to teach him to stop hitting.

How can someone so cute be such a turkey?

I'm hoping it's just a phase....

sigh...

Videos Part 1

Obviously I like taking pictures.

I also try to take as many videos as I can.  Babies grow so fast and I really want to be able to look back and see my baby when he was just oh-so-tiny.

Here are a few of my old favs...

Izzy loves this one... she laughs at how creepily it ends.  She's got an odd sense of humor, that girl.  :)

This video isn't all that exciting.  But I just can't get over how small he looks!

This cracks me up!  Izzy was so determined to help Miles learn how to stand on his own, she did some rigorous training with him.  He LOVED it.

Behind

So, last weekend was a bust. The kids got sick. There was lots of puking. And I mean lots.  And it was everywhere. Miles had diarrhea. In all it was not the best time for the Lauros.

And, of course, I've been slacking on the blogging front lately... So, let's do a quick recap of the last 2 weeks/weekends in pictures!! Not of the puking of course... before the puking, I'm not that crazy!

Miles loves Ikea hotdogs!
This cowboy loves his Nana
We took his car to the mall... this is where the guys wound up!
On our way to the State Fair of TX
Miles loves Fletchers Corndogs!  Good boy!
Cool Tree Baird from the State Fair
Miles not feeling well :(
I let him play with my phone and this is the picture he took.  :)
Lunch in his truck at Izzy's soccer game!
Before Nick got sick... maybe this was the problem??
Look closely to see the little helper by his daddy
Getting rid of Miles' crib.  It is time already!

All better and head first down the slide!
